Polycrisis and Reconciliation

POLYCRISIS AND RECONCILIATION

Centering the Experiences and Perspectives of Malaiyaha Tamils

This study explores the role of Malaiyaha Tamils in the

ongoing reconciliation discourse in Sri Lanka. Despite

the end of the civil war nearly 15 years ago, reconciliation

efforts have focused primarily on the Sinhala and Sri Lankan

Tamil communities, leaving Malaiyaha Tamils, along with

dynamics:

1) The role of Malaiyaha Tamils in reconciliation;

2) The relevance of reconciliation amidst a polycrisis;

3) The impact of the polycrisis on Malaiyaha Tamils’ perception of reconciliation.
