POLYCRISIS AND RECONCILIATION
Centering the Experiences and Perspectives of Malaiyaha Tamils
This study explores the role of Malaiyaha Tamils in the
ongoing reconciliation discourse in Sri Lanka. Despite
the end of the civil war nearly 15 years ago, reconciliation
efforts have focused primarily on the Sinhala and Sri Lankan
Tamil communities, leaving Malaiyaha Tamils, along with
dynamics:
1) The role of Malaiyaha Tamils in reconciliation;
2) The relevance of reconciliation amidst a polycrisis;
3) The impact of the polycrisis on Malaiyaha Tamils’ perception of reconciliation.
